Following the acquisition of Casteleijn Stroopwafels and the closure of an existing production plant, Biscuit International felt the need to realize fully automated syrup cooking installations at two locations within a very short timeframe. Nuutro delivered two complete systems turn-key, from engineering to commissioning, with a focus on speed of delivery and process optimization.
The Company
Biscuit International produces stroopwafels (syrup waffles) and focuses on optimizing their production processes to meet growing demand. As an established producer in the European market, they continuously seek technological improvements that strengthen their competitive position through faster production and better quality control.
The Challenge
The syrup cooking process requires specific expertise due to the complex crystallization process that is crucial for final quality. Biscuit International faced the challenge of optimizing their existing production within a very short timeline of 6 months. Additionally, they wanted to work with an external cooler for the first time to significantly increase their production capacity.
Our Approach
Nuutro delivers complete turn-key syrup cooking installations that separate the cooking process from the cooling process, enabling Biscuit International to produce faster. Our installations cook faster, mix better, and cool more efficiently than their existing lines. Furthermore, the entire process is extensively automated for optimal control and consistency.
The project includes engineering, fabrication, installation, and commissioning for two locations, where we take full responsibility for successful delivery within the tight timeline.
