Mola, one of Europe’s most modern industrial bakeries, produces over a million of bake-off specialties every day \u2014 from croissants to savoury snacks. To keep pace with growing demand for savoury puff pastry products, Mola developed a fully automated meat pur\u00e9e and curry sauce dosing installation together with Nuutro. Nuutro was responsible for the complete project: from concept engineering through to commissioning.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Company<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Operating from Beugen, Mola supplies frozen bake-off products to retailers and foodservice customers across Europe. With over 200 employees, 12,000 m\u00b2 of production space, and a capacity of up to 50,000 snacks per hour, the company operates at full industrial scale. To sustain that growth, Mola continuously invests in modernising and expanding its production processes.<\/p>\n

The Challenge<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Growing demand for savoury puff pastry products required a significant capacity expansion for (meat)filling production. The existing paddle-mixing systems performed well qualitatively, but could not be fully automated and were not CIP-cleanable \u2014 an increasing bottleneck for a bakery committed to maximum hygiene and minimal manual handling. The product itself added further complexity: (meat) fillings are structure-sensitive and cannot be agitated too intensively without losing its texture. The new system also needed to integrate curry sauce dosing and be fully cleanable without disassembly.<\/p>\n

Our Approach<\/strong><\/h4>\n

In close collaboration with Mola, Nuutro designed and built a fully automated production installation that accounts for the product’s structural sensitivity. The mixing solution combines gentle, controlled movement with full CIP-cleanability. As an integral part of the system, Nuutro also supplied a dedicated CIP installation, enabling the entire production line to be hygienically cleaned without manual intervention. Nuutro assumed complete project responsibility: from process design and engineering through to prefabrication, installation, and commissioning. The system was successfully handed over in early 2026.<\/p>\n

Why Nuutro<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Mola and Nuutro had already worked together on a previous project, which provided a solid foundation of trust for this engagement. Nuutro was valued for its flexibility, pragmatic approach, and genuine willingness to think alongside the customer \u2014 even as technical requirements evolved during the project.<\/p>\n
